Eugene Lawton is Headed to Camp
New Orleans, LA – Crescent City Kings defensive back Eugene Lawton has accepted an invitation to participate in training camp with the Columbus Lions in Columbus, Georgia. The Lions are members of the Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL).
Eugene Lawton was a stalwart on the Crescent City Kings defense and his 27 solo tackles ranks fourth best. His 38 total tackles stands first for all secondary players. His versatility allowed him to play both cornerback and safety, making him a truly valued commodity for the defense. Lawton from the onset of practice showed a physicality fit for a linebacker. His size, agility and coverage skills often eliminated slot receivers from games; his presence on the field was distinct.
The Kings organization joys in the advancement of its players. We are immensely proud of Eugene Lawton and hope this opportunity leads to many more. Lawton is a mature, veteran athlete and it comes as no surprise that he has received this opportunity.
